You can never have enough dragon movies, and here at Dragon Zoo we think that they don't come out nearly as often as we'd like!

When was the last really great live action dragon movie that you can remember? Now think of a time you watched one when it wasn't on DVD? When was the last time you were sat in the cinema watching kick ass dragons doing their thing? Apart from How To Train Your Dragon the amount of decent dragon movies at the cinema has been VERY thin on the ground.

SO, we are super excited about news of this new dragon movie about to hit the big screen:

"Age of the Dragons"

OK, so it doesn't look incredible. It isn't the "substitute Transformers with dragons" action movie we were ideally after, but it does look like it could be a lot of fun. This is the first time since Reign of Fire that we were excited about a dragon movie being in the cinema, and with good reason.

What's really unique about the film is that it's based on a story that most of us should be familiar with, Moby Dick. In the original story Captain Ahab was on a quest to hunt the Great White Whale, Moby Dick. In this re-imagining of Herman Melville's classic tale, the main character Ahab (played by Danny Glover) is after the Great White DRAGON Moby Dick!

You see what they did there? They swapped a whale with this guy...

So with a story of revenge and adventure that is an absolute classic, completely re-interpreted as a tale about hunting a giant white dragon, we couldn't be more excited about this latest dragon movie!

So how cool did that look? We're really hyped to see warriors with harpoons going toe to toe with a giant white dragon! Get your popcorn ready is our opinion anyway! To read more on the movie you can check out the official website for character information and pictures.
