This is the Dragon Zoo artwork competition 2010! This will be a fantastic opportunity for all you budding artists out there to get creative and win some great prizes! All you have to do is pick up your pencils, paint brushes, crayons or even computer mice and get drawing!
The competition works as follows;
- Create an awesome image based on dragon zoo and dragons using any artistic method at your disposal. (make sure its a new picture created by yourself)
- Submit the image by sending it as an attachment to the following email address, contact@dragon-zoo.com
- In the subject line of the e-mail put "DZ Artwork competition 2010" and in the email put your name, age and a brief description of what your artwork is about.
- Once we receive the image we'll post it up on the official DZ Facebook Fan Page. Only emails that were submitted via the above method will be valid competition entries.
Ok. So you've drawn an amazing dragon, you've submitted it. Now what? Who wins what and how is it decided?
There will be two winners in the competition, one winner will be decided by you - the general public - using the Facebook Fan Page. The other winner will be decided by us.
This is where it gets really fun! The winner chosen by the public will be the picture that is posted on the Facebook Fan Page which gets the biggest number of people liking it!
So. If you're familiar with Facebook it's fairly simple. You go to the DZ Fanpage (http://www.facebook.com/dragonzoo) check out all the competition entries and click the like button on the bottom of the pictures that you would like to win.
There is no limit to the amount of pictures you can click like for and you can even click like on your own picture once we've posted it! The only rule is that it has to be posted on the wall by us after you've submitted the pic via email. (steps 1-4 above)
Once you've submitted your picture it doesn't stop there! You can give yourself the best chance of winning the competition by getting all of your friends to join the Dragon Zoo fanpage and click Like on your picture!
The best way to do this would be to suggest the page to your friends and family by clicking the button on the official Facebook DZ page (as shown in the picture below)
Select all your friends from the list and click the OK button to send them invitations to join the page and see the wall pictures. Once they've joined the page by clicking the button they can then find your picture and click like!
On October 1st 2010 at 20:00pm (GMT) the results will be counted and the picture on the wall with the most likes wins! Simple!
Don't worry though, if your picture only has a few people that have clicked like but we think its the best then you'll be the second prize winner! We will also reveal the piece of artwork that we have chosen as our winner on October 1st at 20.00pm
OK, so what do you win??
Both the peoples choice and the DZ choice will win the following...
You win your choice of T-shirt (size/colour/logo) from the Dragon Zoo merchandise page
You win the official Dragon Zoo mug!
But that's not all...as well as the free merchandise above both winners will have their dragon design re-drawn by our professional Dragon Zoo artist in our own unique Dragon Zoo style!
How cool is that?
Once drawn the winner will receive this re-drawn picture in their prize pack!
We will also post a large number of submissions on the fan art page on the official website!

There is NO limit to the number of entries allowed per person! So if you have lots of dragons to draw and lots of cool ideas then feel free to submit as many as you like!
This competition is not limited to drawings, you can do paintings, CGI, photoshop, models, ANYTHING! As long as it is art and it's submittable via email!
